Professor Everette E. Dennis

Everette E. Dennis is the Communications & Media Management Area Chair at Fordham Graduate School of Business, where he also directs the Center for Communications.  He was formerly founding executive director of the Media Studies Center at Columbia University, the nation’s first institute of advanced study for media and technological change and founding president of the American Academy in Berlin.  He served as Dean of the School of Journalism and Communications at the University of Oregon and was a full professor at the University of Minnesota.  He is past president of the National Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication, author of some 45 books in the field and other publications.  Dr. Dennis is Distinguished Felix E. Larkin Professor, and member of the Council on Foreign Relations.

Professor Philip M. Napoli

Philip M. Napoli is Professor of Communications & Media Management in the Graduate School of Business and Director of the Donald McGannon Communication Research Center at Fordham University.  He is also a Knight Media Policy Fellow with the New America Foundation and a Docent in the Department of Communication at the University of Helsinki. Professor Napoli’s research focuses on media institutions and media policy.  He is the author of numerous books and over 60 journal articles and book chapters.  His research has received awards from the International Communication Association, the National Communication Association, the Association for Education in Journalism & Mass Communication, the Broadcast Education Association, and the National Business and Economics and Society.

Professor John Carey

John Carey is Professor of Communications and Media Management at Fordham Business School.  He has more than 25 years experience in conducting research about new media and consumer behavior.  Recently, he has conducted studies of consumer use of mobile video technologies, search behaviors, the digital transition, online video, the impact of HDTV on viewing behavior, and the media habits of 18 to 34 year-olds. Clients have included A&E Television Networks, Cablevision, Knowledge Networks, NBC Universal, The New York Times, PBS, Real Networks, and XM Satellite Radio, among others.  John holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and has more than 100 publications about new technology adoption and consumer use of media.

Denise L. Bennett

Denise L. Bennett is the Manager of Integrated Sales Marketing for Women at NBC Universal.  In this role, she develops multi-platform sponsorships across NBCU female targeted properties including Oxygen, Bravo, The Today Show, and iVillage. Prior to joining NBC Universal in October of 2009, Denise spent 8 years at MTV Networks, most recently as the Manager of Integrated Marketing and Sponsorship Development for MTV where she was the MTV2 specialist on brands targeting the male audience including a custom integration for MTV2’s ‘HoodFab’ with Footlocker & Nike and custom ‘Rated Guy’ promotions for movies such as Hellboy & Wanted.

Denise serves as the Vice President of the New York chapter of National Association of Multi-ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), and a mentor for the Diversity Professional Leadership Network at Stonybrook University and the Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT) Career Prep and Pre-MBA programs.   Denise has previously served as the President (2006-2007) and Alumni Liaison (2008-2009) of the Fordham Black & Hispanic MBA Association and the Vice President of the Fordham Media & Entertainment Alliance (2006-2007).  Denise has a BS in Music Business Administration from Indiana State University and an MBA with a dual concentration in Marketing and Media & Communications from Fordham University Graduate School of Business, where she received the Dean’s Award for Service in 2008.

Sean Duggan

Sean Duggan is Vice President of Advertising at Pandora Internet Radio. Sean has 15 years experience working in the entertainment and media industry, and has spent the past decade of his career working in media and interactive advertising. Sean has worked for Public Radio-WFUV, ABC & ESPN Radio Networks, Comcast Corporation, MySpace and since July 2009 he has been the Vice President of East Coast Advertising at Pandora Internet Radio.

Sean is a graduate of Providence College and holds an MBA from Fordham University in Marketing & Finance. He is currently an adjunct professor teaching New Media and Mass Communication at the Fordham Graduate School of Business.
